The Pom's Mom!

Cody, was the first of the Poms that I fell head over heals in love with. He is a very small peach face baby. His little face reminded me of a very light colored raccoon! He is absolutely adorable. Cody has a little problem however. His barker is broken. His growler works a little bit, but as hard as he tries, the barks just won't come out!

He has a little tiny squeak every once in a while, which is not very manly at all. We are going to make a trip to the vet again and see just what is wrong with the barker. It is pretty comical though, to watch his mouth move, and nothing come out! It is also a little sad cause you can tell he wonders where it went! (see barker update below)

The other little minx I fell for is Missy. That would be short for Mischief, cause that is what she is full of! She is TROUBLE looking for a place to happen! This is a picture of what she looks like (it is not her)...she is a sable, and has a beautiful full coat.

Neither Missy nor Cody resemble the little balls of fluff I brought home from the farm. They are starting to look like dogs now instead of puppies. They still act very much like puppies, however! They chew, and wrestle with each other, and once in a while still have accidents on the carpet. But they are smart so just a little scold and they are very sorry.

Missy has a peculiar habit. I haven't quite figured out what the deal is. She and Cody have a double bowl. You know, the kind with food on one side, and water in the other. Well, Missy will put her front feet in the water side, and splash all the water out of the bowl. Then, she will curl up in the now empty water side and sleep with her head on the Puppy Chow! This is the silliest thing I have ever seen! She seems very comfortable and I swear she grins at me while I swab up the mess she has made!

Cody does silly things too. For instance, he will get on my bed, and tug the spread down off my pillow. Then he will burrow into my pillow slip to take his naps on my pillow!

My babies are two real cuties with tons of personality! I love them to bits!

***BROKEN BARKER UPDATE***

The vet said there was nothing wrong with him. That he would just need to learn to bark. Well, it must have taken us three months but with hard work from Cody (who I have taken to calling Codyman), we have taught him to bark! That's right taught him!

I would get down on the floor with him and bark at him. He would try so hard to bark back. This seemed to go on forever, and then one day I was down on the floor making a complete fool of myself for my fur kid, and I barked at him. HE BARKED BACK! Scared me to death. This wasn't any little wussy bark, this was a bark...a manly bark! Cody looked all around to see where it came from. I looked all around to see where it came from! He looked at me, I looked at him, and he barked at me again! We were so happy! So alls well that ends well! Codyman has found his barker, and he uses it on everything that moves!

Our first birthday! We have been with Mom a whole year now. We are spoiled ROTTEN, and we know that Mom love us as much as anyone could!

Missy is still a queen sized brat. Ninja Pom is a good nickname for her. I (that's me, Cody), am all grown up and quite a dapper looking dude, if I do say so myself! Someday Mom will get the film she has developed and put up some new pictures of us up. She doesn't have one of those new fangled digital cameras yet.

The New Millenium Well, the New Year has started and everything went without a hitch, just like Mom thought it would. She did make dad put extra fuzzy blankets in our kennel carriers just in case we didn't have any heat for a while, but that did not turn out to be a problem.

One bad thing did happen on New Years Day. The old man that had the farm where Mom rescued us died. We were sad. He didn't mean to do a bad thing. We hope to see him again someday when we go to the Bridge. He did know that we all got good homes, and he was happy.

Well, until next update time, this is Cody da Pom signing off!
